PROPEL OPENS DOORS. EXPANDS POSSIBILITIES.
Potential can be found everywhere. Opportunity isn’t always as easy to come by.
That understanding has been at the heart of PROPEL — People Reaching Out to Provide Education and Leadership — since 2003, when the Boca Raton nonprofit began with a handful of young people and a belief that students needed more than tutoring. They needed people who cared, stayed involved and helped open doors.
Today, PROPEL supports 70 to 80 students each year, walking alongside underserved youth from middle and high school through graduation — and continuing to provide relationships and support as they move into college, careers and life. Some former students return as mentors, coaches and board members, extending that circle to the next generation.
That commitment comes to life through three interconnected programs.
PROPEL Forward is its school-year experience for middle and high school students, combining academic support, trusted relationships and meaningful experiences that build confidence, leadership and a sense of possibility.
PROPEL Pathways helps turn that possibility into direction, connecting students with college planning, scholarships, career and trade exploration, certifications and real-world opportunities as they prepare for life beyond graduation.
And PROPEL P.L.A.Y. — Passion. Leadership. Action. You. — takes growth into summer, giving students opportunities to explore new interests, build friendships, develop leadership and discover strengths beyond the classroom.
But PROPEL’s ability to keep opening doors depends on a community willing to help.
Businesses can introduce students to careers and workplaces. Professionals can share expertise. Volunteers can mentor. Community partners can provide meals, transportation, technology, activities and other resources. Sponsors and donors can make scholarships, field trips and student experiences possible.
There are many ways to become part of that circle — because supporting a young person’s future doesn’t always begin with knowing exactly what they need.
Sometimes it begins by asking what you have to offer — and putting it within reach.
